SEATTLE, Wash. – Daan Maasland continued his lights out play today as he won his semifinal match and will play in the singles final tomorrow at the ITA Regional Championships.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Pitted against Washington’s Jake Douglas, Maasland easily won the first set 6-3. However, the second set was much closer as Douglas edged him to take it 7-5 and force the deciding third set. There, the Geldrop, Netherlands product asserted his dominance, taking it 6-2 to move on to the finals. He will face Stanford’s David Wilczynski in the championship match tomorrow at 10 a.
