Live updates: Oregon Ducks take on Prairie View Panthers

Because Pac-12 defenses have so far been unable to stop the outrageous production of Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate, Oregon coach Willie Taggart's preparation for the Wildcats this week has gone beyond simply placing his faith in defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt's game plan.

Taggart, who in the past has invoked mention of "the football gods," is seeking divine intervention.

Asked whether he would prepare any differently to combat a player the caliber of Tate, the first Pac-12 quarterback to rush for 1,000 yards in a season, Taggart said he would "pray."

It's likely Taggart's quarterback-related prayers won't end there, however.
