The men's discus preliminaries have begun as I type this.
The late nights and early mornings of the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships take a toll.
There will be a lot to watch today.
There are a number of finals, among them the women's 400 meters, the men's 400, the women's steeplechase, the women's 1,500, the men's 1,500 and the women's 100 hurdles.
Lots of local athletes in those events are serious contenders for one of the three spots on Team USA for this year's World Outdoor Championships in London.
Here is a partial list: Phyllis Francis (women's 400); Alexa Efraimson, Eleanor Fulton, Katie Rainsberger and Shannon Rowbury (women's 1,500); David Ribich, Johnny Gregorek, Sam Prakel, Ben Blankenship, Matthew Centrowitz and Jordan McNamara (men's 1,500); Colleen Quigley, Courtney Frerichs and Mel Lawrence (women's steeplechase); Alaysha Johnson and Sasha Wallace (100 hurdles).
