The Oregon high school football season enters Week 4 with a clear-cut top three of Clackamas, Lake Oswego and Sheldon, but one of the state's top contenders is dealing with off-the-field controversy.
Playing in a two-quarterback system, Clackamas (3-0) has effectively utilized the skillsets of both juniors Austin Atkeson and C.J. Jordan so far this season.
However, Jordan took to social media this weekend to publicly lament his frustration with the battle and assert that "politics" were responsible for his split with Atkeson.
On "The Andrew Nemec Recruiting Podcast," Jordan Johnson and I broke down the quarterback battle, giving the early nod to Atkeson for his performance on the field and also discussed the potential ramifications - recruiting and otherwise - of the controversy heading into a huge contest against Lake Oswego.
