EUGENE, Ore. – Makenna Kliethermes struck out 11 Oregon State batters and Ariel Carlson scored the winning run on a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh as No. 22 Oregon defeated the Beavers 4-3 Saturday night in front of a Bark in the Park crowd of 1,968 at Jane Sanders Stadium.
Carlson, who homered in the third inning, led off the seventh by reaching first on a seven-pitch, full count walk. She advanced to second on a wild pitch. Jasmine Williams then beat out an infield single and when the throw from shortstop Savanah Whatley sailed wide of first base, Carlson sped home with the winning run.
