CORVALLIS, Ore. - The No. 5 ranked Oregon softball team belted two homers to back a fantastic start by Megan Kleist in a 4-1 win over rival Oregon State on Thursday to open the three-game Civil War series.
The Ducks (26-5, 3-1 Pac-12) defeated the Beavers for the 16th straight time after sweeping OSU the previous five seasons.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Kleist was dominant early, recording five strikeouts over two scoreless innings to start the game.
The Ducks broke open the scoreless tie in the third when senior Lauren Lindvall mashed a solo home run to right centerfield, her third big fly of the season.
