SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Louis King was one of 20 players nationally named to the 2019 Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award watch list by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Wednesday. He is one of five Pac-12 players on the watch list.
King, from Jersey City, N.J., was a five-star recruit with a scout grade of 93 according to ESPN, which ranked him as the No. 11 player overall nationally and the sixth-best small forward in the 2018 recruiting class. King was selected for the 2018 McDonald's All-America game.
Named after Named after Class of 1993 Hall of Famer and 16-year professional basketball player Julius Erving, the annual honor in its fifth year recognizes the top small forwards in Division I men's college basketball.
