Kevin Abel, Trevor Larnach lead Oregon State baseball to 4-3 win at Oregon

EUGENE -- Freshman Kevin Abel pitched 6 1/3 strong innings of one-hit relief and Trevor Larnach hit his 13th home run to lead No. 6 Oregon State to a 4-3 nonconference victory over Oregon at PK Park on Tuesday night.

The Beavers (33-7), who are ranked No. 3 in four of six polls, have won eight consecutive games against the Ducks (21-21). The teams will play one more nonconference game next Tuesday in Eugene.

It was Abel's longest stint of the season and by far his top performance. He finished with four strikeouts and two walks on 84 pitches before closer Jake Mulholland recorded the last five outs to earn his 13th save.
