EUGENE -- For 32 minutes and 9.2 seconds Thursday night, Sharon Lokedi was in command. Then the Kansas junior crossed Hayward Field's finish line.
The moment Lokedi had long hoped for had come -- and now the new winner of the women's 10,000-meter final at the NCAA track and field championships had no clue how to celebrate a national title even she found a bit unexpected.
"This feeling of being a national champion, it was like, I've seen people doing that and this time being me? I didn't know what to do," Lokedi said, beaming. "I just did not know what to do.
