The No. 1-ranked Oregon women go into action today at Hayward Field in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The Ducks would have to short-circuit not to win the outdoor title and complete the first women's triple crown -- NCAA championships in cross country, indoor and outdoor track in the same academic year -- in Division I history.
If all goes according to the authoritative Track & Field News form chart, the Ducks won't score a point in any of today's six women finals.
But as long as sprinters Deajah Stevens and Ariana Washington, hurdlers Alaysha Johnson and Sasha Wallace, mid-distance runners Katie Rainsberger and Raevyn Rogers, and Oregon's loaded 4x400 navigate successfully through today's preliminary heats, the Ducks will be set up to clinch on Saturday.
