EUGENE, Ore. – A few days after being named an Associated Press first-team all-American for the third straight year, Oregon women's basketball senior Sabrina Ionescu on Monday was unanimously selected as the AP women's national player of the year.
Ionescu is the first Duck ever to win AP national player of the year, and she joins Breanna Stewart (2016) as the only unanimous winners in history.
"That's pretty crazy. Someone I look up to and have a good relationship with," Ionescu told the AP after learning the news. "To be in that class with her is an honor.
