It's been nearly a month, and Sabrina Southerland still is wrapping her head around her NCAA indoor title in the 800 meters.
"It's still kind of unreal," Southerland said last night after an appearance at the TrackTown Tuesday meeting in Eugene's Downtown Athletic Club. "I was still shocked when I came off the line. I was like, 'Did this really happen?' For the rest of the week I was like, 'Oh, man., I did that.'"
Yes, she did, despite not being on anyone's radar going into the meet.
The grad transfer from Georgetown defied the form charts by dropping a personal record of 2 minutes, 01.
