EUGENE, Ore. – The wait is over. After returning for his senior season despite being a projected first round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Oregon quarterback NFL journey started on Thursday night when he was selected sixth overall in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Herbert is the sixth QB and the 18th player in Oregon history taken in the first round of the NFL Draft. Oregon tied USC for the most first round QBs (4) since 1999, with all four QBs going in the top six.
