EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert has been named one of 20 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award, Maxwell Football Club President Mark Dianno announced on Monday.
Herbert has thrown a touchdown pass in 23 consecutive games, the longest streak in the nation. The 2017 first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American also was named to the final 15 for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award last week.
Herbert earned a spot on the list by completing 155-of-260 passes for 2,069 yards and 20 touchdowns through Oregon's first eight games. The junior ranks in the top 25 in the nation in six different offensive categories.
