Jorgensen retired from the triathlon after winning Olympic gold in in Rio, had a baby and returned to competition as a distance runner with the stated goal of winning a second Olympic gold medal, this time in the marathon.
She has joined the Portland-based Bowerman Track Club, and Friday won the 10,000 meters in impressive fashion at the Stanford Invitational in 31 minutes, 55.68 seconds.
