LAS VEGAS – Junior Jakob Goldfarb went 3-for-4 with a career-high five RBI to lead Oregon to a season-opening 6-1 win over Loyola Marymount at the Marucci Desert Classic on Friday.
How it Happened: Oregon (1-0) fell behind early after Loyola Marymount (0-1) scored a run in the second inning. Lions starting pitcher Josh Agnew retired the first 10 Ducks' batters he faced before freshman Jonny DeLuca singled in the fourth inning. Agnew retired the next two hitters to get out of the inning.
Oregon finally got to Agnew in the fifth inning.
