The USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships begin today at Hornet Stadium on the Sacramento State campus.

It will be a long day. The first event -- the junior heptathlon 100 hurdles -- went off 10 a.m. The last one, the men's 10,000 meters, is scheduled for a 10:09 p.m. start.
In the men's 10,000, former University of Oregon star Galen Rupp of the Portland-based Nike Oregon Project will be seeking his ninth consecutive -- and, probably, last -- national title in the event.
