DALLAS — Oregon football center Alex Forsyth was announced as a second-team all-American on Friday morning by the Football Writers Association of America in partnership with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl.
It is Forsyth's first all-American honor after he was named first-team all-conference by Pac-12 coaches on Tuesday and second-team all-Pac-12 by the Associated Press on Thursday.
Forsyth is the first Duck this season to be named an all-American by one of the five organizations that make up the consensus and unanimous all-America teams recognized by the NCAA. Forsyth is also the first Oregon offensive lineman to be recognized as a first- or second-team all-American by the FWAA since Penei Sewell (first team) and Calvin Throckmorton (second team) in 2019.
