NCAA champion and former University of Oregon star Aaron Wise shot 6-under par Friday in the second round of the WinCo Foods Portland Open presented by Kraft Heinz, taking a three-stroke lead into the weekend.
Followed by a large group of fans donning green and yellow, Wise made five birdies and an eagle, backing up his 64 from Thursday with a 65, tied for the lowest score of the day. His nearest competitor is Eric Axley at 10-under par. Adam Schenk and Lanto Griffin both sit at 9-under par.
"I've still got a lot of golf to play, but it's a great spot and it's where I want to be," said Wise about being in the lead.
