Former Oregon Duck David Peterson to make professional pitching debut

New York Mets first-round draft pick and former Oregon Duck David Peterson will make his professional debut Friday evening.

Peterson, who set numerous Oregon records including most strikeouts (20) in a game, is scheduled to pitch an inning tonight for the Met's Class A farm team in Brooklyn.

Peterson's Cyclones face Tri-City with first pitch at 3:40 p.m. Pacific.

The 6-foot-6 left-hander hasn't pitched in a game since signing a nearly $3 million contract with the Mets.
