It's nice to see Haley Crouser putting it all together.
She threw the javelin 176 feet, 11 inches Friday at the USTA Invitational to win the competition by more than 12 feet. It's the furthest throw so far in the young outdoor season, and her best as a collegian.
Crouser set what was then the national high school javelin record as a Gresham High School junior in 2012 with a throw of 181 feet, 2 inches. Then, anything looked possible.
But she struggled with a series of minor injuries as a high school senior and while at the University of Oregon.
