Chris Miller admits he wasn't much of a student during his University of Oregon days during the mid 1980s. But it worked out at the time, as Miller landed an NFL quarterback job that led to a 10-year professional career.
About 45 credits short of a college degree, Miller let it linger for a few decades. But this December, the 52-year-old West Linn football coach says his parents will "probably shed a tear or two" when Miller receives his degree from Northwest Christian University in Eugene.
With a degree in hand, it could open a door to another career opportunity: college coaching.
