EUGENE -- In March, after Florida's agonizing half-point loss to Texas A&M in the NCAA indoor track and field championships, Gators freshman Grant Holloway made a promise.
"Immediately after the loss he said, 'Coach, I'll never let you down again,'" Florida coach Mike Holloway said. "I said hey, you're a freshman.
"And he said 'I don't want to hear that. I'll never let my team down again.'"
At the 2017 NCAA outdoor championships this week at Hayward Field, the dynamic freshman proved he is many things. A national champion high hurdler. A steely relay runner. A versatile long jumper, too.
