EUGENE, Ore. – Putting a bow on its home opener, the Oregon track and field team racked up eight wins Saturday at the Hayward Premiere. Jaida Ross, winner of the women's discus, cracked the program's top 10 in the event while Shaniya Hall and Jasmine Montgomery were double winners on day two.
In the first event of the day, Ross wasted little time making some history for herself with a lifetime-best toss of 52.74m/173-0 in the opening round of the discus. The Medford, Ore., native now ranks No. 8 in Oregon history after adding four feet to her previous best, a mark established only a weekend ago.
