I like the approach the Oregon Ducks are taking this spring with distance ace Edward Cheserek, who will be idle this week while his teammates compete at the Penn Relays and Oregon State's High Performance Meet.
The UO coaches scratched Cheserek two weeks ago from the Bryan Clay Invitational, where he had been expected to duel New Mexico star Josh Kerr in a rematch of their battle in the NCAA indoor mile.
It's led to speculation about the health status of the Ducks' 17-time NCAA champion. Oregon coach Robert Johnson quashed that on Tuesday.
