Ducks Win Pac-12 Opener

EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon women’s tennis team knocked off Washington State 5-2 in its Pac-12 opener on Friday at the Student Tennis Center.

The Ducks won their seventh straight match and improved to 9-2 overall and 1-0 in Pac-12 play.

NOW IT HAPPENED: In the No. 2 doubles match, Oregon’s Nia Rose and Alyssa Tobita won 6-2 to put the Ducks ahead early. Then WSU battled back and tied it up after Barbora Michalkova and Aneta Miksovska took the No. 3 doubles match, 6-3. The doubles point came down to No. 1 and the Ducks prevailed.
