OJAi, Calif. – The No. 50 Ducks (15-8) took care of business Tuesday afternoon at the Pac-12 Championships in their opening round match and defeated Arizona 4-1`at the Libbey Park Courts in Ojai, Calif. Simon Stevens provided the match-clincher for the Ducks, giving the freshman his 15th singles win in a row, bringing his overall record on the season to 20-3.
Oregon will go on to play No. 25 California tomorrow afternoon at noon (PT) in the quarterfinals.
How It Happened: Cormac Clissold and Jayson Amos were the first UO pair to put a doubles point on the board for the Ducks, winning their match on court two 8-4 over Arizona’s Jason Jaruvang and Trevor James.
