MADISON, Wisc. -- The Oregon women’s golf team defeated Colorado 3-2 in the East-West Match Play Challenge championship today at the University Ridge Golf Course. Senior Caroline Inglis sealed the win as she topped her opponent 1 up.
HOW IT HAPPENED: Cathleen Santoso earned the first point for Oregon as she won over Colorado’s Natalie Vivaldi. Vivaldi held an early lead through the first three holes, but a birdie on hole 5 gave Santoso her first lead of the day. Vivaldi then kept it close throughout the rest of the front 9, but Santoso took a commanding lead on the back 9 with three birdies and winning the match 4 and 3.
