EUGENE, Ore. – After getting the Melyssa Lombardi era off to a 5-0 start last weekend at the Kajikawa Classic, the Oregon softball team moved up six spots to No. 19 in the first USA Today/NFCA top-25 poll of the 2019 regular season.
The Ducks outscored opponents 53-20 in their first five games under Lombardi, hitting .389 as a team with 33 walks to just 18 strikeouts.
Oregon has now been ranked in the USA Today/NFCA top 25 for 136 consecutive polls, dating back to week 10 of the 2010 season.
The Ducks will head to Clearwater, Fla.
