Aaron Fentress of Comcast Northwest makes a great point today about Oregon’s showdown with 2-9 UC Davis of the Big Sky Conference.
In today’s column he wrote, “The opening game for the Ducks is rarely ever about competition. It’s usually more about simply celebrating the return of another season.”
The Ducks have the opportunity to flush the memory of the Alamo Bowl and unveil a new quarterback and defense.
They should win by 50. It’s a chance to reward the threes and fours with some playing time and dry-run the new sets, formations and assignments.
Look for energy and discipline.
