It looks like the Oregon Ducks will be in a real fight with USC for the Pac-12 team championships next weekend at Stanford.
The Ducks have swept the conference meet in nine consecutive seasons. The UO men have won the conference title 11 consecutive times. But both logic and the law of averages suggest that kind of dominance can't go on forever. This might be the year it ends.
The Ducks will keep that in mind during tomorrow's Oregon Twilight.
Oregon coach Robert Johnson said they will be resting most of their sprinters, jumpers and hurdlers, doing some fine-tuning in the mid-distances and filling the gaps with post-collegians.
