LAS VEGAS — Friday's Pac-12 Tournament quarterfinal game for the Oregon women's basketball team wasn't a particularly sharp performance, but the top-seeded Ducks overwhelmed Utah with a flurry of three-pointers in the second quarter and advanced to the semifinal round with a 79-59 victory over the Utes before 6,782 fans in the Mandalay Bay Events Center.
The Ducks (29-2) shot 8-of-12 from three-point range in the second quarter Friday to overcome an early deficit and take a double-digit lead into halftime. They advanced to play Saturday against fourth-seeded Arizona (6 p.m., Pac-12), which lost twice to Oregon in the regular season but will be looking to secure homecourt advantage for the opening round of the NCAA Tournament with an upset of the Ducks.
