CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. -- The seventh-ranked Oregon softball team went 1-1 during the first day of play at the Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, Calif. The Ducks fell 6-5 to Nebraska in the morning, but then bounced back to drop Cal State Northrdige, 14-3, in six innings to close out the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Ducks and Cornhuskers were putting on a home run clinic early as each team featured solo shots in the first inning. Nikki Udria put the Ducks on the board first with her home run to right center.
