SAN DIEGO – Terra McGowan and Allee Bunker combined to hit for the cycle in the first two inning and Stevie Hansen came on in relief and shutdown UC Riverside as No. 24 Oregon defeated the Highlanders 12-5 Sunday on the final day of the Campbell/Cartier Classic at SDSU Softball Stadium.
McGowan homered in the first inning and singled in the second, while Bunker tripled in the first and doubled in the second to lead a 12-hit barrage that led to a season high in run for the Ducks.
Meanwhile, after UC Riverside (4-6) closed to 8-5 in the top of the third, Hansen (4-2) made her fourth appearance of the tournament and shutout the Highlanders over the last 4.
