Conference play opens this weekend for the Oregon baseball team, but UO coach George Horton thought the Ducks would get a preview of Pac-12 caliber competition on last week’s trip to SEC country.
The results — three losses at Mississippi State, after a rainout at Alabama — left Horton feeling “concerned but excited,” as the Ducks enter the start of conference play this weekend. No. 19 Oregon (8-5) hosts Utah for a three-game series at PK Park that starts Friday (7 p.m., Pac-12 Networks).
“I hope that’s not a prelude for how it’s going to go for us,” Horton said.
