CLE ELUM, Wash. – Oregon sits in sixth place after shooting 2 under in the opening round of the NCAA Cle Elum Regional at the Tumble Creek Club Monday, led by Tom Gueant's 3-under 68 which puts him in a tie for fourth after 18 holes.
The Ducks are four shots behind co-leaders Wake Forest and San Francisco and just two shots outside the top five. The top five teams in each regional advance to the NCAA Championships.
"We had a solid day," said head coach Casey Martin. "We are in position if we play well and I feel like we are due for a breakthrough round.
