EUGENE, Ore. – The 11th ranked Oregon volleyball team improved to 2-0 to start the 2019 season with a 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 sweep over Boston College on Saturday night in the final match of the Oregon Classic at Matthew Knight Arena.
The Ducks hit .318 as a team and were led once again by returning all-Americans Willow Johnson, Ronika Stone and Brooke Nuneviller. Johnson was named the Oregon Classic MVP after leading all players with 14 kills on .591 hitting.
How it Happened: Boston College (1-2) took an early 9-6 lead to open the match before the Ducks evened things up with a 3-0 run, and Johnson sparked another 3-0 stretch with a kill to give UO a 14-12 lead.
