Ducks Fall Short at No. 9 Washington State, 2-1

PULLMAN, Wash. — Oregon fell behind in a game for the fifth time this season, and for the fourth time in those contests, the Ducks tied the match. But Washington State's goal in the 70th minute proved to be the difference as the ninth-ranked Cougars edged Oregon 2-1 Thursday night at Lower Soccer Field.

How It Happened: WSU (9-0, 2-0) found a hole in the Oregon defense in the 48th minute as Elyse Bennett finished a deflected pass to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.

Oregon (7-2-1, 1-1-0) tied the game 1-1 in the 58th minute after Emma Eddy was taken down for a foul just outside the Cougars' box.
