PHOENIX, Ariz. – Oregon took a 4-1 lead into the eighth inning but Arizona State rallied to send the game in extra innings where the Sun Devils won 5-4 on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 12th.
How it happened: Both pitchers were dominant through the first five innings, before both teams put runs on the board in the sixth. Oregon’s A.J. Balta golfed his team-leading eighth home run of the season over the wall in the top of the inning to give Oregon (21-18, 9-10) a 1-0 lead. Arizona State’s Gage Canning answered with a solo shot to lead off the bottom of the sixth to tie the game.
