EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon soccer team tied it up in the second half but a penalty kick gave Washington State the 2-1 victory Friday night at Papé Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The visiting Cougars stuck first when Chelsea Harkins controlled the ball in the left side of the box. She one-timed it to get it past keeper Halla Hinriksdóttir and put Washington State up early. Just 77 seconds later, Bayley Bruner had a chance to tie it up when she got a look at Ella Dederick, but the WSU keeper scooped up the shot to keep her team out in front.
