DENVER, Colo. – A scoring drought in the second half was too much for the Oregon women’s lacrosse team as the No. 6-seeded Ducks saw their season come to an end with an 11-5 loss to No. 3-seed Denver on Thursday in the quarterfinal round of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament.
How It Happened: Denver (13-4) was on the board first when Nicole Martindale, the MPSF Rookie of the Year, picked up a rebound and sent a shot past Jenna Morris. A few minutes later, Cambi Cukar found a hustling Rachel Steinberg from behind the crease to score and knot things up at 1-1 with 17:54 on the clock.
