Ducks Earn First Win in Berkeley, 1-0

BERKELEY, Calif. – Chai Cortez scored in the seventh minute and Leah Freeman made a career-high seven saves as Oregon won in Berkeley for the first time in program history, 1-0 Friday night at Witter Rugby Field.

The Ducks (5-3-2, 3-2-1) moved into fifth in the Pac-12 with 10 points, just two points behind second-place Stanford (4-1-0) and a point back of Arizona State (3-0-2) and Washington (3-1-2) for third. Teams earn three points for a win and one for a tie.

How it Happened: Cortez scored her first career goal on a well-placed corner kick.
