PHOENIX – Arizona State scored runs in each of the first six innings and Oregon had no answer as the Sun Devils picked up an 18-4 win at Phoenix Municipal Stadium on Saturday night.
How it Happened: ASU (10-9, 2-0 Pac-12) scored four runs in the first, two in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth and five in the sixth to build an 18-0 lead before the Ducks (12-6, 0-2 Pac-12) answered with a pair of runs in both the eighth and ninth innings.
Gage Canning, who went 5-for-5 with two home runs, a triple, four RBI and five runs scored, led an ASU attack that saw six Sun Devils finish with multiple hits.
