Ducks Drop Opener with UCLA

EUGENE, Ore. - The No. 4 ranked Oregon softball team dropped its series opener, 16-6 in five innings, to No. 14 UCLA on Friday night at Jane Sanders Stadium.

The loss snapped an 18-game winning streak for the Ducks (26-5, 6-1 Pac-12), which matched the program record.

HOW IT HAPPENED: Oregon found itself in an early hole as UCLA scored two runs on one hit, two hit batters and a walk in the first inning. The Bruins scored seven more runs on three hits and three errors in the second, chasing Oregon starter Cheridan Hawkins.
