LUBBOCK, Texas – The Oregon women’s tennis team dropped its first dual match of the season Saturday morning, falling 4-0 in the opening round of the ITA Kickoff Weekend to No. 17 Texas Tech.
How It Happened: The Red Raiders took the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. Ducks Marlou Kluiving and Shweta Sangwan dropped their match 6-2 to Felicity Maltby and Sabrina Federici on No. 3. Texas Tech clinched the point when Oregon’s tandem of Kennan Johnson and Christi Woodson fell to Gabriela Talaba and Sarah Dvorak 6-3 on No. 2.
Oregon’s Nia Rose and Alyssa Tobita were leading the 25th-ranked doubles team of Lynn Kiro and Alex Valenstein 4-2, but the match was suspended as soon as the Red Raiders clinched the doubles point.
