ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands – The top-ranked Oregon women's basketball team overcame a slow start in the first quarter to run away from UT Arlington for a 91-54 win in the second game of the Paradise Jam on Friday at the University of the Virgin Islands.
A day after Oregon's starting five combined for 82 of the team's 89 points against Oklahoma State, sophomore Taylor Chavez provided a spark off the bench with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting from three-point range. Junior Satou Sabally enjoyed a 13-point second half to finish with a team-high 19, and senior Ruthy Hebard added 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting.
