LAS VEGAS – The seventh-ranked Oregon softball team won its eighth straight game as it run-ruled Southern Utah, 9-0, in five innings Saturday night at the UNLV Classic.
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Ducks (16-4) scored runs in each inning and started the game off by jumping out to a 3-0 lead. Alyssa Gillespie recorded a lead-off bunt which Nikki Udria followed up with a walk. Koral Costa then scored both runners as she recorded a triple to right field. Later on in the inning, the Thunderbirds’ second baseman fumbled a ground ball by Hailey Decker, allowing Costa to score.
