EUGENE – The Oregon women’s tennis team dropped Arizona, 6-1, Friday at the Student Tennis Center. The win marked the Ducks’ ninth straight and put the team out to a 3-0 start in conference play for the first time since the 2004 season.
How It Happened: The Ducks (11-2, 3-0 Pac-12) picked up 6-1 wins on courts one and two to easily clinch the doubles point. The 33rd-ranked doubles tandem of Kennan Johnson and Shweta Sangwan earned its first ranked win of the season in a victory over 47th-ranked Lauren Marker and Shayne Austin. The duo moved to 11-3 overall and 7-2 in dual play with the win.
