The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association tabbed University of Oregon sprints and hurdles coach Curtis Taylor as women's outdoor assistant of the year.
Few awards of this type are more deserved.
Taylor has done something I thought impossible while fashioning Oregon into a sprints powerhouse.
Women sprinters Hannah Cunliffe, Deajah Stevens and Ariana Washington are world class. Hurdlers Alaysha Johnson and Sasha Wallace were NCAA scorers. So was male sprinter Kyree King.
There might not be a better events coach on the college level. It will be interesting to see what Taylor does next.
