SPOKANE, Wash. — The Oregon women's basketball team is elite, once again.
The Ducks (33-4) advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight for the second time in school history — and the second time in two years — with an 83-69 defeat of Central Michigan on Saturday in the Sweet Sixteen.
The regional No. 2 seed Oregon leaned on its post play early in the game, with sophomore Ruthy Hebard recording her third career NCAA Tournament double-double, of 23 points and 14 rebounds. She also had a career-high six blocked shots, part of the Ducks' season-high team total of 11.
